Get The Look: Golden Globes: Sofia Vergara : Sofia Vergara @ Golden Globes

A look at Sofia Vergara as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Kayleen McAdams. On inspiration, McAdams said, “This look is all about the lips. We chose a bright plum lip and kept the eyes soft with bronze shadow and multiple coats of mascara. The dress is a gorgeous shade of teal and the hair is very sleek and youthful so we wanted the makeup to stand out and look youthful as well.”

Makeup Breakdown

I started by applying COVERGIRL TRUconceal Concealer #4under the eyes and around the nose. I then applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg with a sponge and set that with COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey. I chose a plum toned blush COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow and applied it along the cheekbones and apples of the cheeks.

Eyes:
I applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 3-kit Shadow in Golden Sunset all over the lid and into the crease and then applied three coats of NEW COVERGIRL LashBlast 24HR Mascara to the top lashes and one coat on the bottom.

Lips:
I applied COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Everlasting first and then appliedCOVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved. This keeps the lipstick from bleeding, but makes it easier to apply the line with the moisture of the lipstick.

When she was ready to hit the red carpet, I sent Sofia on her way with powder, lip pencil and lipstick for reapplication.

Her hair was done by stylist Mara Roszack. To complement her Old Hollywood-inspired gorgeous black Dior dress, Mara created a loose braided bun that felt classic and youthful all at once. “Mila has such an overall elegance to her style. I wanted to create a look that would complement the femininity of the dress while still looking polished,” Mara said.

Hair Breakdown

First, Mara treated the ends of Mila’s damp hair to L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Smooth and Shine Serum. She started at the bottom and worked the serum up further into hair for a smooth base. From here, she sprayed L’Oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Root Lifting Spray at the roots to add extra oomph while blow-drying with a round brush

Next, Mila’s hair was gathered into a low ponytail, loosely braided and secured with a hair elastic. This loose braid was then wrapped into a bun shape around the elastic and pinned into place using bobby pins. A touch of Oribe Rough Luxury Molding Wax was used to smooth any remaining flyaways and frizzies. A final mist of L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray was used to lock in the style for touchable hold.

Makeup
“Freida has such gorgeous eyes!” said Leslie. “I really wanted to channel a young Sophia Loren and make Freida’s eyes the focal point of her look.”
Step by Step How-To
Leslie gave Freida a flawless face by starting with L’oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation in W6 (Sun Beige). She created a sun-kissed look on the cheeks with L’oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Cherubic.
For Freida’s eyelids, she used L’oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, and Iced Latte on the brow bone for an extra pop of shimmer. Leslie gave the look an extra layer of smokiness with L’oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in black before curling her lashes and applying a few coats of L’oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Black.
To keep Freida’s eyes the focus, she kept her lips on the natural side with L’oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Lingering Mocha, a soft mauve.
Hair
Inspired by Freida’s princess-like Prada dress, Giannandrea wanted to keep the hair easy and simple so that the overall look was elegant, timeless and, of course, chic. Giannandrea created a soft twist with the top and sides of Freida’s hair while giving the crown that extra oomph for volume. Cascading waves fell softly down her back to maintain the feel of effortless beauty.
Step by Step How-To
Giannandrea began with wet hair and applied a generous amount of L’oréal Paris EverStyle Volume Boosting Mousse before using a hairdryer to blow it dry using only his fingers to give hair texture. He then applied L’oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Volume Root Lifting Spray & Volume Boosting Mousse to just the crown area to create voluminous lift. Using a round brush, he blasted hair – separated in sections – with high heat and then temporarily set each section with Velcro rollers. After spraying each section with L’oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray – Extra Strong Hold Unscented for a soft hold, he let the hair sit while Freida got her makeup done.
After her makeup was applied, he took out the rollers and brushed through the curls to create soft, flowing waves down her back. He then back combed the crown for added lift and took the top portion of the hair with a few pieces from each side and created a very subtle, soft twist that flowed into the length of the hair. To finish the look, he used a touch of the L’oréal Paris EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Crème to smooth out the length and sides to give the style an overall clean feel. Giannandrea set Freida’s look with L’oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray – Extra Strong Hold Unscented to keep hair in place throughout the night.

Get

To create a playful look, use the Super Fun Palette. First, apply the Sugar Plum shade across the lid to create a base. Next, frame the edges of your eye with the Sweet Plum shadow by applying it into the crease and outer corner. Using Charmmy Eyeshadow Stick in Snowflake, highlight the inner corner to create a pearlized glow.

n an upward motion, apply buildable Apple Cheeks in Blushing along the cheekbone and blend gently for smooth, even coverage. Then, use Apple Cheeks Luminizer in Cottonball to highlight above the cheekbone to give your face a glowing radiance.

Lips:
Layer Sweet Gloss in Pink Bow and Big Smile Gloss in Strawberry Gum to create the shimmering pink look.

Get The Look : Smashbox In Bloom : Blossom

Apply Photo Finish Foundation Primer all over complexion, followed by Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, for flawless skin. Apply the bright pink shade from Cream Cheek Duo to the apples of cheeks, blending back toward the temples.

Prep lids with Photo Finish Lid Primer. Apply the Bone shade from Eye Shadow Palette & Brush all over lids as a base, then sweep the Golden Pink shade onto lids. Then apply Artificial Light Luminizing Powder into the inner corners of eyes and blend softly onto lids. Lightly dust the Shimmery Copper shade from Eye Shadow Palette & Brush along lower lash line for a soft drop shadow. Then line upper lash line with Soft Focus Powder Eye Liner in Dark Brown. Finish with two coats of Bionic Mascara.

Lightly tap the bright pink shade from Cream Cheek Duo onto lips as a base. For a more lustrous lip, finish with a coat of Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15 in Endless Kiss.
